I was driving home today and I saw this abandoned mailbox on a semi-deserted road.

*Turns it into a postcard*

I really like the feeling in it :) *Gets rid of the stop sign for personal preference reasons*

Heart broken? Angsty? Just get into those "moods"?

I took these pictures as an "amateur" in the purest sense of the word, derived from the Latin "amare", to love: I loved what I was doing. I think - perhaps - I am an amateur in love with art...
hahah "little house on the prairie" eh? Ya it occurred to me that i can actual take advantage of living in such a rural area.
:D lol.. you bet... I'll dig it till the cows come home *rimshot*

it looks so isolated, almost lonely

I'm a city kid - it's a love/hate relationship...some summers I go out of state and into very rural areas, driving around a big old chevy caprice that once used to be a police interceptor through winding mountain roads - t's my absolutely favourite thing to do. The feeling of hot air and sun upon your skin as you're sitting behind your car, pulled over for a rest into some abandoned driveway, thick with weeds and wild flowers, sitting there just to listen to the world around you. The billowing clouds are typical to the mental picture of the area and the unpaved road, ready to spew dust at the slightest touch of the gas pedal is fine too. What's great about this is what it really has a summer feel to it - it's not over saturated and yet it's not flat either, the exposure is very nice and it feels a lot like a film photograph, velvia film maybe.

Got a little carried away there!

thanks for your comment :) I actually have a love hate relationship with living in a rural area. I don't think I'll ever be able to live in a big city, but I know I'm going to move somewhere larger than my town (pop. 1,800). The area where I took the pic used to be nothing but farmfields at the turn of the century. My great grandparents emmigrated from Finland and cleared the land themselves to build a farm. Today, most of the farms and the forests have naturally come back.
I like the way it turned out. Nice colors.
