For the first time in a very long time I got out my camera. I just messed around and took some photos of myself and boyfriend. I hope to get my camera out much more often from here on.

I have completed my first year of college and am staying here with my boyfriend. We've rented an apartment and found jobs to sustain us. It is a new start for us. Neither of us are twenty years old yet, but we are very happy to be out of the homes of our parents and together on our own.

I am not active on Deviant Art very much anymore, but I stop in from time to time and continue to do so.

It's Been Awhile

Mon Mar 19, 2007, 7:01 PM
High school is almost done. I haven't done much to pursue photography. I should make a point with this journal. I have no point to make. I thought it would be good to update. I am running on about three hours of sleep, a frozen pizza, and a bright new LCD monitor. How could I possibly have anything to say?

My feelings on photography are simple: I hate cliches. I think DeviantART promotes a lot of cliches. Highly manipulated landscape photos? Yeah, seen them all. Oh, and my personal favorite is the heart in the book with the shadow/lens filter. One person did it. I bet it was cool. But when everyone copied it. So I don't give a fuck. But that is a rant I feel strongly about but a frozen pizza just isn't supplying me with enough energy to argue it. Someday I will. But I hate promises. So someday I probably will, but please don't count on it.

I've shifted interests into more graphic design related things. I love Adobe InDesign. So I guess the 'photography energy' I have is being eaten up by that at the moment. I'll get back to photography soon. I love photography. I love the artistic aspect because it is executed in such a technical way. Left brain right brain bullshit doesn't work for me. I'm not saying I'm both. I 'm saying I'm just balanced. I'm not a very creative person, and I'm no God of Maths. It works well with photography. Photographers must be able to think somewhat creatively and still be able to execute their ideas in a very technical way.

Now that I've established myself as alive. I can end this.

Goodnight.

Camera Again :D

Sat Sep 23, 2006, 7:08 AM
My D70 is fixed and back in my possession!!!

OMG :D

I'm happy FINALLY I can take some photos. :D

Unfortunately, now that it is fall I'm busy with school. My camera is useful there though too. I am on our school newspaper which always is in need of photos, and on the yearbook. Either way, I'm going to be taking lots and lots of pictures.

Oh, and for anyone who has no clue what I'm talking about, on August 1st I was being careless and I put my camera's memory card in backwards and bent one of the pins of the card reader. Ugh...it cost $225 to get it fixed so yeah don't be dumb like me and make a mistake like that.

The Latest:

I'm headed down to Kalamazoo, Michigan early tomorrow with my boyfriend and his family. I've never been down there before so it should be fun.

The crap thing about it is, I don't have my camera yet! I only sent it out to be fixed two days ago so as we speak it is in the hands of the U.S. postal service. Haha I should have glued the "you'll get your mail" pic to the package. I hope it gets here sort of soon. I'm going to buy the SB-800 flash and get some experience using that. Definitely sounds like a good investment.

Also, thanks to all the people who have added me to their watch list this month! There's been quite a few. This past week I've spent catching up on all the deviations of the folks I watch. As I said I'll post some thumbs when I get a chance. :)

I really must sleep now though because I have to get up at 3:30am to head downstate. Ugh...
